Contributors and sponsors can donate to Urban Yoga Foundation (UYF) via PayPal or by mailing a United States Postal Service (USPS) money order to the UYF Sugar Hill studio.
IRS Regulations
You can deduct your contributions to charitable (nonprofit) organization like ours only if you itemize your deductions on Schedule A (Form 1040).
Note: You must have a receipt from the charity or a bank record for all charitable cash donations to claim a deduction on your tax return.If you do itemize and give to a qualified charity, you can deduct cash donations and donations of property, but you can’t deduct the value of your time or services spent on charitable work. However, you can deduct your out-of-pocket costs.
If you donate non-cash items with a total value of more than $500, you must file Form 8283 with your return. You may need a qualified appraisal if you donate an item or a group of items with a value of more than $5,000.
The deduction for charitable contributions generally is limited to 50% of your adjusted gross income (AGI).
Why Pledge a Donation?
UYF's mission is “To unify our community by using yoga as the foundation of healthy lifestyle choices, academic endeavors and creative expression.” All funds, whether income or principal, and whether acquired by gift or contribution or otherwise, is devoted to this purpose.

Supplies
UYF accepts gently used yoga mats, blankets, blocks, bolsters, straps, and sturdy chairs. Contact support@urbanyogafoundation.org to coordinate the logistics.
Contributor Recognition
Private individual and corporate giving is critical to helping Urban Yoga Foundation provide provide children, parents and educators in urban communities with the tools needed to manage everyday stress and develop mind body awareness and health consciousness. Recognizing donors is an important way for the Foundation to express its deep gratitude and show individual and corporate supporters how their generosity helps fulfill a community need.
